Liz has been a medical information specialist for 30 years, the last five spent as a freelancer. Prior to that, her background was in oncology nursing and as a manager of a national cancer telephone helpline. She then moved into information production for both hard copy and web, running the patient information website of the Cancer Research Campaign and Cancer Research UK. Since becoming a freelance writer, she has worked on a wide variety of medical topics from orthopaedics to dementia.
