Chloe Evans, 20, is on a mission to raise £4,000 for Bowel Cancer UK by hand making sparkly accessories
An aspiring professional dancer has made it her mission to raise awareness for a bowel cancer charity since she lost her father to the disease four years ago.
Chloe Evans, aged 20 from Sedgley has arranged several fundraising projects in less than a year for Bowel Cancer UK, a charity she has supported since losing her father to bowel cancer in May 2013, who died aged 42.
The Worcester University-student has raised more than £3,000 to date.
For her latest fundraising attempt, Evans has organised a night of performing arts in her local area.
Evans told the Express and Star: “The evening is to remember my dad, who died from bowel cancer four years ago.
“The day after would have been his 46th birthday. I like to organise fundraising events in his memory on special dates like this one to turn what could be a sad day into a celebration.
“It’s important to me that I try to help stop another family going through this awful loss, then I feel like I’m achieving something. I’m proud to support Bowel Cancer UK as they work so hard to raise awareness of the disease and symptoms to help stop bowel cancer.
“I have raised over £3,300 for Bowel Cancer UK in memory of my Dad in nine months, and it would be amazing to reach £4,000 by the end of the year.”
Evans added: “On the night there will be dance and musical theatre performed in aid of Bowel Cancer UK.”
The dance student’s first fundraising project she started working on was ChloBow. For every donation made to Bowel Cancer Uk, Evans handmakes a pretty bow and sends it to the donor.
Evans, who shares her finished bows on Twitter, said on her Just Giving page: “I have a huge obsession with hair bows and often go by the name of ChloBow. I’ve decided I’m going to start stoning bows to send out to all those who make a donation to this amazing charity. We are so lucky to be sponsored by the amazing Rhinestone HQ who very kindly donate the stones so our bows are extra sparkly.”

So far, Evans has helped raise £3,422 – much more than her £200 target she set back in October 2016. She has since extended her target and now hopes to raise £4,000 by the end of the year.
